nerd worries
Had a scare this morning when the computer would not recognize two of my hard drive partitions. I couldn’t get scandisk or anything to run, they just weren’t readable. So I tried to ignore the problem and went ahead and installed my DVD burner. Then when I turned the machine back on, it would stay on for a minute or two and then restart. Bad news. I thought it might be the bad drive doing something, so I unplugged it inside. It turns out that I unplugged the wrong drive, and in doing so, caused the computer to find the corrupted drive during start up and begin repairing it. I’m not sure yet how much data was lost because of bad sectors or whatever, but I know I didn’t lose it all. I was also able to figure out that it was only downloaded concerts that I would have lost, but 40 gigs of them. I’m slowly getting everything back together.
