Fun in the photo booth, originally uploaded by mrwilloby.

This will probably be a post that is way too short to describe all the activities of the past few days.

I really should figure out a way to make my blog useful like Gary North says. For now, it is not.

I went up to see Mike Doughty on Friday night. I went to the show by myself, but drove up with Jessica. She had her own show to go to. I had a good time, didn’t talk to anyone, but that’s ok. He’s one of the most fun guys to see live because he interacts with the crowd like crazy. He let us vote on the song he was going to play, he asks us if there is anything we want to talk about, and he heckles back at the hecklers. I got to hear some of my favorite songs too, like “Rising Sign”, “Soft Serve”, and even “St. Louise is Listening”. I was also glad he played 9 out of 12 of the songs off the new record. Afterwards I bought a t-shirt and had him cross out the “Small” of where it said “Small Rock World Tour” because during the show he told us that Small Rock is dead. Now we have Medium Rock.

I got to unexpectedly hang out with Tiphereth on Saturday. It turns out that she was up in SF for a few days because she sprained her ankle and needed to recuperate. I hadn’t expected to see her for 6 months. We had a few drinks at a bar, played pool, took photo booth pictures with props from my car, sat around atop Twin Peaks with prom kids and Japanese tourists, went to the beach which was crowded with drunken teenagers, then walked around in the woods. This last activity was ill-fated. We were on a little trail, actually heading back to the car with the aim of finding something to eat at 1 in the morning, but a gopher hole landed under her foot. It just happened to be the one with the injured ankle attached to it. She said it hurt pretty badly and so I took her home. Thus the evening was unfortunately cut short. I can’t complain about it too much since the entire visit was a pleasant surprise. I just hope she didn’t hurt herself any worse. Now we return to the life of being penpals.

The highlight of today, believe it or not, was the clam chowder at Fresh Choice. It was absolutely amazing.

My love for Fresh Choice is ridiculous…

that place is awesome, it’s like… here, eat all you want, and since it’s healthy, don’t feel bad!

Also, would your friend’s name be from the hebrew word for beauty?

It’s her middle name that she goes by. I’m not sure how much her parents thought about it when they named her, but she says they were hippies.

I Googled it again (yes, I’ve done it before) and this site came up. There is an image at the top that is the the same as the artwork in the limited edition Tool CD/DVD set Salival. That’s pretty fucking cool to me.

The image at the top is of the kabbalistic “tree of life”

Fuck this new age bullshit you hear about in the news thanks to brittany spears and madonna and stuff… it’s actually really interesting.

Tifereth provides a ground or reference point to understand the other eight aspects of creation. To know beauty is not to know the others, but to know the others is to know beauty.”

I could go on for hours, but… I won’t bore all of you, heh.

I won’t bore all of you, heh.

I’ve got that covered around here Joe.

hehe, yeah… we don’t need any turf wars… I’ll keep the east side covered, you keep the west side covered… between the two of us, we’ll keep this town drowned in boredom, and be set up with jobs for life. :p
