Put tape in and push play.

My job consisted of playing a video today. Sometimes days like that are very boring, but sometimes I am quite good at remaining occupied. Today was nice because a new issue of PC Magazine came yesterday.

I could tell that the teacher I was in for today had a very relaxed classroom atmosphere normally. I find that kids whose classes are usually like that behave a little bit better for me as a sub than those kids whose teachers try to have a stricter classroom because with a sub, these later kids are going to try and get away with more. They were all generally well behaved during the movie, but also, it wasn’t crucial for them to be paying careful attention so they talked a little and whatnot, but I didn’t care.

Things I read today:
PC Magazine: May 10, 2005 issue, interesting articles/features on: pharming, printing digital pictures, online comparison shopping, business scanners
Faith and Liberty chapter 5, “The Theory of Money”

Mother’s Day

All my mom wanted was flowers. I vacuumed too.

New hit from Germany to report. It was from the forums for Gentoo Linux. I should try messing with that again. Getting my screen resolution correct and the refresh rate set for my monitor is the biggest hang up. So sad that that is the only thing preventing me from playing with Linux.

hooray for the weekend

I’m really glad it’s the weekend. This week was insane.

On Tuesday I went up to San Francisco and saw the Raveonettes and Autolux with Andy. It was a really great show. The Peels who opened weren’t too exciting, so we stood around outside and talked about nerdy stuff and girls. I saw Mila who lived on my floor in the dorms at Berkeley. It was a little odd because we never really hung out or talked much, but there was that recognition thing where you feel like you should say hi.

Anyway, Autolux was brilliant again. I’m probably lucky to have seen them twice in just over a month. The Raveonettes put on a great show too. It was a lot more exciting than seeing them at Coachella. I even met a guy who was recording the show, I’ll hopefully work out a trade with him. I had lots of adrenaline still in me for the drive home which ended at just after 1 A.M. It wasn’t fun waking up at 6 A.M. for work the next day.

Then again on Thursday I drove up to San Francisco for yet another show with Andy. This time it was to see Team Sleep, a band he thought I would like. Chino from the Deftones is in it. Andy had heard an unfinished demo of theirs on the internet a while ago and loved it. He said the music we heard was pretty different than what he had heard. It was much more hard apparently, but I still liked it, even though I was really, really tired.

I fell asleep last night before 9 P.M. watching TV in my bed. Today has been spent catching up with a few computer things, some accounting, a few other things, and relaxing.

I’m overwhelmed by the stuff to do since I’ve gotten back from the weekend. Today I managed to get my photos from the trip up on Flickr though. Many thanks to Jessica for giving me a Pro Account.

Enjoy that while I figure myself out.
