Tonight I found out that a friend of mine is dead. We met just about a year ago online. We had hung out a few times. She was a really awesome person. I liked her because she was very laid back and down to earth. Things got busy and we didn’t see each other much. She lived a good distance away too. I last chatted with her on September 1. She died a week later. I only found out tonight because I checked her MySpace page to see what she was up to. I figured she was busy with a new boyfriend that she had told me about when we last talked. Then I saw some of the comments her friends were leaving. Things like, “I can’t believe it’s 3 months since you’ve been gone,” and, “I miss you so much, but I know you are watching over me.” That really freaked me out and so I read a little more and did a Google search on her name. I saw her obituary that had been printed up in Alaska where she had moved from not too long before I met her. From what I gathered by her friends’ comments I think alcohol was certainly involved and she was in the hospital for a day or two. I really don’t know though. It’s so shocking.
